Two weeks ago, I briefly discuss why Nick Suzuki, an excellent young player, is struggling as the Montreal Canadiens’ undisputed No. 1 center.
In recent days, MTL tries Option 2 by uniting Suzuki with triggerman Mike Hoffman and retriever Brendan Gallagher.
The move kick-starts Suzuki’s point production (four assists in three games), but MTL14 continues to underwhelm as a creator.
With Suzuki on the bench, MTL is a mediocre generator of shot volume. With Suzuki on the ice, the team is among the worst in the league.
Why?
